Ruth L Emberg of Spring Hill, FL. passed away Thursday evening March 1, 2012 at Brooksville Regional Hospital after a short illness.
Ruth was born in Chicago IL., September 26, 1928 to the late Paul Meyer Jr. and the late Blanche Meyer (nee Patnou). Her step-brother, Howard Meyer also pre-deceased her.
Ruth is the loving wife of the late Robert (Bob) Emberg. She is the beloved mother of Ron (Betty) Emberg of Marietta, GA; Linda Emberg of St Peters, MO; and Randy (BobbiJo Jarvis) Emberg of San Antonio, FL and beloved grandmother to Tory and Craig Jarvis-Emberg of San Antonio, FL.
Throughout her life Ruth "never met a stranger" and made many life-long friends wherever she lived who will greatly miss her.
Ruth spent her early life in Chicago and Hoffman Estates, IL. She met and married her beloved Bob in the 1940's. Together they had 3 children in the 1950's. She was very active supporting and raising her children through school, church, PTA and scouting activities.
In 1968 a job transfer for Bob moved the family to Manchester, MO. She took on a job at Western Electric (AT&T) a career she embraced for over 20 years. Her own AT&T job transfer in 1987 moved Ruth to Roswell , GA where she became very involved with her community and church activities and traveling.
With the birth of her grandchildren, Ruth found herself visiting Florida more and more and in the mid 1990's she moved to Spring Hill, FL to be able to be part of Tory and Craig's lives. While in Spring Hill, she enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow, traveling, and her many friends and neighbors who joined her in such activities as the investment club, pinochle club, bridge club, book club, and various art classes.
As her children writing this we've been told how special our mother was by all her friends. We know that mom held a special place in her heart for all her wonderful friends. We appreciate all your comments and love expressions as we mourn passing and celebrate mom's life. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Ruth's name to the American Cancer Society; Gulfside Regional Hospice; your church's memorial fund or a charity of your choice. Please feel free to leave us messages and stories of mom on this website.
