David Kelly Voiles, a/k/a Proton, Coach, DK, David Miller, Davey, Yacky, 43 of Brooksville passed away January 3, 2012 after law enforcement officials recovered his body from the lake at Sherman Hills Golf Course in Ridge Manor.

He was born in Martinsville, Indiana on August 14, 1968 to the parents of Patsy P. Pitman and David K. Miller.
David married his beloved wife Teresa Anne Voiles (Burr) on November 11, 2005.

He graduated from Liberty High in Bedford, VA., and continued his education at Ferrum College in Ferrum, VA., where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Administration, and was currently enrolled with Liberty Online in Lynchburg, VA., working on his Masters in Divinity.

David has numerous decorations, medals, badges, citations and campaign ribbons awarded or authorized as follows; Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal 2nd award, National Defense Service Medal 2nd award, Driver and Mechanic Badge, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with "M" device, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Lapel Button, and the Hernando County Sheriff's Citizen Award. David was also deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom with the Tennessee National Guard 2004-2005.
He joined the Florida Army National Guard in January 2006, and was also employed as a Golf Ball Retrieval Diver, Referee, Umpire, Coach, and Substitute Teacher.

Some of David's activities and hobbies that he enjoyed included karaoke, football, running, working out, mentoring children, an being an active member with his youth group and The Road to Bethlehem at Hillside Community Baptist Church.

David is predeceased by his grandparents; Dewey L. Pitman, Clawdell Pitman, Ruth Mann and Donald Voiles, Aunt Brenda Wisman, Cousin, Loura Garrett (1991) Duncan and a nephew, Ryan Squitieri.

He is survived by his loving wife Teresa "Terre" A. Voiles (Burr) of Brooksville, parents, Patsy P. Pitman of Weeki Wachee, formerly of Mooresville, IN., and David Miller and his wife Marjie Squitieri of Ocala; step-grandparent Bernice Groves; step-brother, Tom Squitieri and his wife Angie and nephew Keith; step-sister, Daphne Squitieri and nephew Brian Hom; step-sister, Tami Squitieri and nephews Matthew Sutherland, and Vincent Ciaccio; and Uncle Pastor Tom Tackett, Aunt Charlotte and Uncle Patrick Schmidt; and Uncle David Wisman; Uncle Dewey (Danny) Pitman and Aunt Joyce; cousins; Mike Garrett, Teresa (Pitman) Clinch; David Wisman II; and Kimberly Wisman; friends; Janet Lambert, Sue Robinson, Judy Fisher, Sheila Griffey, Beth Watson, Rob Bray and Steven Lynn Wall; Joe Hensley of Bedford, Virginia and numerous cousins.

Gathering In Memory will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 2:30 – 4:30 and 7-9 at the Brooksville Chapel of Brewer & Sons Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Brooksville with Pastor Joe Santarelli Officiating. David will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery with Full Military Honors following the service.
