Tribute & Message From The Family

Deborah Swan, 61, passed away December 17, 2016. She was born in Concord, Massachusetts and grew up in Lincoln MA before step moves that led her to reside in Leominster MA. In 2012 she moved to Spring Hill Florida. She was Catholic by faith. Deb worked for Digital Equipment Corporation for many years while also holding a second job first at Howard Johnsons and later, for many years, the 99 Restaurant in West Concord MA. Deb later worked at Open Market, Davox, Hypertronix, and finally Lyrix. Deb was an active Customer Service Help Desk manager at Lyrix. She helped guide her peers and was all about customer service and satisfaction. Deb knew her business and the products she supported in great depth and scope. Outside of work, Deb was an active participant with several FB clubs that involved gardening, flowers, orchids, and container gardening. She was known by many of the local Hernando County (University of Florida) Master Gardeners and planned on formally joining the Master Gardeners this January with the start of the next UF training program. Deb had an eye for decorating and gardening, and never shied away from the maintenance tasks to keep everything up. She would often be observed out in the gardens very early in the morning or in the early evening. Deb's passion was being outdoors or in her greenhouse, doing anything in the fresh air. She was an avid cyclist who would routinely bike 20-30 miles each time out, really enjoyed kayaking in the Weeki Wachee river, Three Sister springs, and around Caladesi island. Deb was a great hostess and was often told how inviting and accommodating she was. Even at other events outside her home, she would be the first to help setup and prepare, and be right there with the cleanup. She was full of energy and was self-driven. No matter what, she would get the task done. Deb is survived by loving husband, Brian Tierney, spending 24 years together; 2 step daughters, Jennifer Santiago of Ohio and Melissa Tierney of Massachusetts; a grand-daughter, Valerie Santiago; 3 siblings, Victoria Bossa of West Palm, Florida, Charles Swan of Long Island, New York and loving family, Kim Swan of Ohio and loving family, as well as many friends. Deb would have ended this obituary with: "God bless, I love you".
